Week 5 Match Summaries and Results

Clinton’s Syed Islam (112) and Wingate’s Kevin Evariste (106*) ton up, whistle Brooklyn International Akash Chowdhury registered the first hat-trick of the 2013 PSAL Cricket Season.

On April 30th. Kevin Evariste recorded his first century of the season as Wingate defeated Bronx HS of Science @ Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.  At Kissena Park in Queens, Aviation defeated Stuyvesant by six wickets, and defending Champion Long Island City made light work of struggling Sheepshead Bay.

At Marine Park, John Adams stumbled to undefeated Lincoln by 82 runs with Fahad Riaz (90*) missing out on his first ton of the season.  On the adjacent pitch, Brooklyn International got in the win column against inexperienced Brooklyn Tech. with strong contribution coming from Akramul Haque (67) and Akash Chowdhury(4 wks.)

On May 1st. Prospect Heights continued its winning streak by defeating Brooklyn Tech.  Dewitt Clinton’s visit to Marine Park was successful as they pulled out one against improved Wingate.  Captain Syed Islam crafted with a well played half-century (55) during the win, but Wingate’s Kevin Evariste missed out on his half-century (47).  On May 2nd. Lafayette posted 125/3 against struggling Stuyvesant, undefeated Bryant’s made light work of Sheepshead Bay, Bronx HS of Science and Lehman registered wins.

On May 3rd. we head to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx where Clinton posted 217 against Springfield.  Skipper Syed Islam completed an excellent all-round performance as he registered his first century (112) of the season and also picked up 4 wickets as well.  In Brooklyn, strong contender Abraham Lincoln restricted Brooklyn International to 69 total runs.
