Two Maryland schools received cricket training this week from USYCA President Jamie Harrison. On March 19, Harrison visited Oakland Mills High School in Howard County. Oakland Mills had been supplied with four USYCA American Cricket Champ sets purchased by the county, and sought instruction so as to put the equipment to better use.

Harrison worked with several Physical Education classes, starting with a brief introduction to cricket before getting the students organized for a quick match. Here’s a brief video of the students playing.

On March 20, Harrison joined Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council head cricket coach Warren Prestwich at Timonium Elementary School in Baltimore County. The two stayed at the school the entire day, teaching children in all grades how to play cricket.

At the end of the day, the school was presented with its own USYCA American Cricket Champ set to keep.
