NYPD Cricket 2012
Meten Meer Zorg Superstars won the toss and decided to bat first in some wet condition at Baisley Pond Park located on 150 and Rockaway Blvd.  With the overs  being reduced to 15 overs per side because of a slight delay.

Amarnauth Persaud (left) and Trevis Ross of Meten Meer Zorg Superstars ton up in NYPD Cricket.

Superstars coach Ajaz Asgarally decided to open the batting line up with USA Under 19-player and newly named USA Under-17 captain Trevis Ross,  both batsmen batted marvelously hitting the leather in all directions of the park.

Ross, the more aggressive of the two played some attacking shots with his partner Persaud who was timing the ball to perfection delivering some crisp and easy drives around the park.
Trevis Ross brought up his fifty with a spanking straight six followed by Persaud bringing up his half century with a perfect cover drive as both batsmen look very comfortable at the crease with no interference.  Ross was the first to reach his century with a pull shot through mid wicket for 4.

With the scoreboard reading 175 off 12 overs, Ross retired and was replaced by Rocky Kowchai who was playing his first game of the season, Persaud in the meantime was stroking his way to his first century of the season in this tournament, he square cut the pacer for 4 to earn his century, Persaud retired and was replaced by the hard hitting sensation Dino Choo-Wee-Nam the duo continue the onslaught of the Knight Riders bowlers to see MMZ Superstars reached 224 off 15 overs.

Knight Riders playing with a few players short was routed out for a merely 11 runs with Kowchai  picking up 3 for 2,  Wazim Shaw 2 for 4  and Michael Katwaroo 2 for 5.
MMZ Superstars performance is unbeaten so far, with one more game before the break for Ramadan, their coach Asgarally is looking to finish unbeaten.

Congrats!! a competition is a competition, an inadequate team (no offense night ryders) doesnt make it anything different. if more than 12 players can show up for MMZ superstars, what does that have to do if the other team is not equipped!! a win is a win, and a century is a century, there is no two ways about that. you try telling NZ or Australia to sit out a game just because the other team is less than prepared!!!
