In the 35 overs tournament game between United Sports Club and Pak-America which was played at Beach 58 in Far Rockaway in the Commonwealth Cricket League, United Sports Club registered a comfortable win.

Pak-America won the toss and elected to take first strike and scored 217 runs all out in 33.5 overs. Valuable contribution came from J. Yasir 50, H. Asad 49 and M. Hunain 66 runs.

Bowling for United Sports – G. Phillips picked up 4 wickets for 37 runs in 5.5 overs, Sunil Singh 2 wickets for 25 runs in his allotted 7 overs and Steve Massiah 2 wickets for 30 runs in his 7 overs.

United Sports in reply knocked off the required runs in the 35th over for the loss of 4 wickets. We saw a classic first game hundred from hard hitting opening batsman Richie Sieuchan – 106 not out and a composed and elegant 75 from captain Steve Massiah. The second wicket partnership between Richie and Steve was worth 185 runs. The pair took control of the game after the first wicket fell in the 2nd over of United Sports inning.

Bowling for Pak – America Wahab, Anjum and Hunain picked up 1 wicket each.

Result – United Sports won the Match by 6 Wickets.

    @rizwan…u must first get your facts right before making comments on anything…united needed five runs off the last over not seven And they were only four wickets down…furthermore, it was too close to give that out..

    This match was actually abondoned. United needed 7 runs off the last over and they were 7 wickets down. Richie was run out off the first ball and he was miles short. He was given not out by united’s square leg; if he was close to the crease then it’s understandable.
    MAtch had NO RESULT.
    But it was a gr8 match to watch had a good time watching it.
