Albion CC will face off Sunday against the Strikers CC at Whitestone Park in what promises to be a brilliant game of cricket.

Both teams have been playing excellent cricket over the past several weeks and it will be tough to predict the outcome of this match beforehand.

Albion beat Yonkers Eagles CC in their semi-final last Sunday and Strikers beat NY Tigers to claim their place in the final.

For Albion, some of their in-form players include Tameshwar Sewak [Jerry], Tavendra Pooran, Tariq Aziz, Allan Harmacoond, Sunesh Wazid, Nyeem Baksh. But the danger-man that Striker CC will have to keep an eye on is Sudesh Dhaniram who can turn a game with either bat or ball like he did last week against Yonkers Eagles.

It will be a match-up of youth versus experience and it will be interesting to see which one comes out on top.

Prolific all-rounder Sarmad Khan of Strikers.

Striker CC will boast a line-up which will include Sarmad Khan who this writer considers to be the best leg-spinner in the entire USA. He is also a superb batsman when he gets going. Joining him will be Nadir Mohammed and it’s hard to find a better all-rounder than this guy. Too bad that biased selection and selectors have kept these 2 stars out of the Regional team and also the National team.

The most low-key player you will find in the Striker team will be Shabazz Ahmed who can crack a hundred as good as or better than the next guy. These 3 will be ably backed up by Irfan, Assad and a host of other good players.

Come early to catch a front-row seat for what could be the best game in New York this season.

It would also be nice to see some NY selectors there as well as there will be an abundance of exceptional talent on display.
