It’s a dream come true for young Burton, but landing an equipment contract can render a youth player like Burton, a relative of the great Sir Viv Richards, speechless. Dreams do come true, and this is just one dream for the youngster.

Regis, an American born freshman at SUNY Old Westbury College, and a 2009 All-American cricketer is currently in New Zealand with the USA Under-19 squad to compete in the ICC 2010 Under-19 World Cup.

“I cherish the opportunity to represent my country, but will continue to display all the qualities needed to become a well-rounded professional cricketer,” said Burton, adding, “I would also like to thank my Rising Star club mates for all the support and guidance they have shown throughout the year.”

Ricky Kissoon, captain of Rising Star Cricket Club stated that “Regis is one of the most composed, and disciplined young cricketers in the New York tri-state area.”

Members of Rising Star Cricket Club wishes Regis and his fellow USA teammates, all the best at the ICC 2010 U-19 World Cup, and encourages him to have fun, while competing at his utmost.
