victories for Bermuda, Canada and USA on Day Two of ICC Americas U/19
Qualifier
Wed, Jul 8, 2009 Bermuda, Canada and USA maintained its winning streak on Day Two of the ICC Americas U/19 Regional Qualifier in Toronto on Tuesday. With only two places available to progress to the ICC Global Qualifier, the three teams will soon begin to feel the pressure and that could come as early as Wednesday when Bermuda tangles with USA.
Results: Cayman Islands v Bermuda: Bermuda skipper Regino Smith (34) and Man of the Match Deunte Darrell (33) top-scored for their side to post a modest but formidable target of 218-9 in their 50 overs. Skipper Ramon Sealy was the pick of the bowlers for Cayman Islands with figures of 3-16. Cayman Islands, in reply could only manage a modest 103 all out with Bermuda?s Joshua Gilbert taking 3-25. The top scorer was Darren Cato with only 14 runs as Bermuda cruised to a 115-run victory. Bahamas
v Canada Canada was once again impressive in the chase as its top order ensured a good opening. Patel (79) posted another half century, his second in two matches to help his side post the required runs in 16.3 overs. He was the obvious pick for Man of the Match as Canada coasted to a nine-wicket victory. Argentina
v USA In reply, Man
of the Match Ryan Corns scored an explosive 58 not out in 40 balls
which included eight fours and two sixes and was ably supported
by Henry Wardley, top run-getter from the last game, who scored
37. Argentina?s poor bowling performance cost it dearly as USA achieved
the set total in just 13.2 overs. USA
