Newyorkcricket.com: A Success For Cricket

By Shiek Mohamed
May 29th, 2009

The Memorial Day weekend was undoubtedly one of the best for youth cricket in America and www.newyorkcricket.com statistic-wise. With the USACA National Under-19 tournament held in Brooklyn, NY during May 22-25, the newyorkcricket.com site saw an incredible spike in the number of visitors, pages viewed, and overall hits.

Over the four days of cricket, the site saw close to 35,000 pages being viewed, the final match played on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th saw nearly 17,000 pages being viewed. There were 101,000 hits for the final and a total of 194,000 hits for the tournament. Such staggering numbers simply show the demand for cricket and cricket information via electronic media.

The site also saw a tremendous increase in visitors; on Monday there was 1,172 visitors, an increase of nearly 90 percent from its usual average traffic of around 600 visitors.

The high volume of traffic was merely the effort of the staff whose contributions could be seen with reports and photos of all the games on a daily basis.

The experiment of live score updates was the major boost for www.newyorkcricket.com as it posted live score updates of the final on Monday, which skyrocketed the statistics.

We can guarantee cricket lovers we will continue to do the live score updates of major games, such as league competition finals, the PSAL and the Mayor’s Cup finals which will be staged on June 13th.

Once again we encourage teams and leagues to send us their reports along with photos, we would also appreciate advertisers to help us defray costs and at the same time give the maximum exposure to their businesses.

We would like to thank all those who continue to help make www.newyorkcricket.com a successful site serving cricket and cricket-lovers, in the New York metropolitan area and beyond.
