Cosmos
Coined A Heated Tie
A total
lack of application from Cosmos batsmen left their team gasping after
they raced to 47 for 1 in only six overs. Suddenly a forced cut to
point, a miscued pull to mid-on, a drive to mid-off, a swipe to silly
'somewhere' and the scoreboard reads 53 for 4 off 7 overs. It was
left to the inexperience Leikram Latchman and Sham Ali to repair the
inning. Lucas's, in reply, showed their intentions very early that they will take the challenge to the cosmos bowlers, and they did as they raced to 55 for 1 in only 7 overs. Ricky and Dominic Gomes managed to curb the flow of runs while picking up two wickets each. Cosmos fought hard to gain control of the match, which kept slipping at regular intervals. However, with the score on 179 for nine, Lucas required a dot ball or one run to win. It took the last ball of the match when Shafiq Jadavji uprooted the mid stump of E. White for Cosmos to breath some relief after a dreadful day in the field. |
