Dec. 11th, 2008
Atlantis Cricket Club - New York today brought some holiday cheer to several children in the New York metropolitan area, through its annual toy collection and delivery program.

The New York based cricket club collected new unwrapped toys last weekend as part of its annual toy collection drive, and today Dr. Glendon Archer, a member of the club's Executive Board presented Ms. Marie Mandara, Director of COPE, an organization dedicated to assisting single parents and less advantaged parents continue their education while seeking employment and raising families. The acronym COPE stands for College Opportunity to Prepare for Employment and is located on the campus of Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn.

The toys will be sorted by age appropriate groups, wrapped and presented to the deserving youngsters at a holiday party on December 19 at Kingsborough Community College. All of the toys are wrapped by the wonderful ladies of the COPE staff, who serve as Santa’s elves, helping to bring much joy and happiness to the children of so many struggling, but ambitious parents.

Atlantis Cricket Club is an affiliate member of the Eastern American Cricket Association and a member of the United States of America Cricket Association. The club’s motto is Atlantis…more than just cricket! Through its community-based service programs, the cricket club continues to make worthwhile contributions to the New York community.
