For Cosmos Kings
The 'Cosmos Kings' are new comers to the region’s youth program spearheaded by the hard-working Clifford Hinds. This competition will give the youths an opportunity to learn the game and engage in a meaningful pastime activity.
Tri State Youths who won the toss and elected to bat found themselves in some early trouble against the Kings pace attack of Dominic Gomes (1 for11 off 4 overs) and S. Islam (1 for 14 off 4 overs). Medium pacer Atiq Baksh then pushed Tri State further back with a military spell.
Baksh bowled a steady line, varying his pace well to account for two quick wickets to return with figures of 2 for 13 off 4 overs. Tri-state was in trouble at 70 for 8, however M. Ferrier (34) and B. Jaikaran (17) showed some resistance in the end to give their team a respectable 110 all out.
Cosmos Kings in reply made a steady start with opening batsman Lakeram (22) laying the foundation. With the score on 60 for 2 in 10th over, Kings stepped into aggressive mode losing another two wickets in the process. M. Farajee stuck around for a mature inning of 31 not out partnered by his captain Dominic Gomes who creamed a straight hit over mid off fence to seal a six wicket victory with four overs to spare.
