Cosmos Dominic Gomes For King

(Celebrating 26 Anniversary)- A sterling performance from Cosmos Kings sensation Dominic Gomes against Team Pakistan last Saturday at Foch, inched kings to within one game of the finals in the New York Region Twenty/20 competition.

Gomes, struck a blistering 71 off 32 balls which included 8 sixes and 4 fours to secure a victory and revived his team’s hopes of a chance to get to the finals. Gomes’s cameo with the bat left Team Pakistan's bowlers staggered and bewildered. When Gomes departed caught on the boundary, Kings required just 2 runs in 5 balls and one wicket in hand.

Earlier, Team Pakistan notched up a challenging 153 all out off their allotted twenty overs. H. Amzan stroked a comfortable 61 to set his team on course. The pick of the bowlers for Kings was the promising Hugh Craig 4 for 48. Atiq Baksh was among the wickets again with 2 for 20.

Kings in reply, found themselves in some early trouble at 61 for 5 in the 12th over. Captain Leikram Latchman stroked a responsible 16 before he run out as a result of some poor judgment and K. Narine struck an important 18. With eight overs remaining, Kings required another 92 runs when Gomes strolled to the wicket. He found the boundary twelve times in during his entertaining fireworks sending a strong signal to the selectors that he is the one to watch. Kings secure their victory with four balls to spare. It was a crushing defeat for Team Pakistan and a brilliant performance by the Cosmos Kings team.
