Chickery After winning the toss, Richmond Hill decided to bat first. They suffered an early setback when Ahmad Shazaman was bowl by Carl for six with the score at 13. Clifflee Velaidum (Lee) joined Pooran Balkissoon at the crease and the two put on 38 in eight overs before Lee was caught for 13, off the bowling of Rob. Young Gunz struck three more times in three over to restrict Richmond Hill to 56 for 5 in the 12th over. Pooran remained resilient during the tumble of wickets. He was joined by J. Hemraj who took it to Young Gunz’s bowling. Hemraj scored 25 of the next 28 runs to give Richmond Hill some, much needed ‘breathing room’ before the half (15 overs). They were 84 for 5. Richmond Hill lost the wicket of Hemraj in the 17th over with the score at 87. Young Gunz was elated but soon found out that Richmond Hill’s tail does not wag like that of our beloved West Indians. Ravi Lutchman joined Pooran and the two took the score to 112 before Pooran was out for 41. Even though batted for 21 overs, he managed to hit three 6’s in his gritty knock. Richmond Hill was 122 for 8 when Brian Heeralall joined the aggressive Lutchman. Not wanting to be out done by Lutchman, Brian took on Young Gunz’s bowling. His 21 contained two 6’s and a 4 in a partnership of 30. With the score at 152 for 9, Lutchman took matter in his own hands before he was bowled for a well-played 41. His superb knock contained five 4’s and a 6. Richmond Hill was bowled out for 169 in the 28th over. Rob was Young Gunz’s most successful bowler with 5 for 33 off his six overs. Set a target of 170, Young Gunz was off to a disastrous start. They lost the wicket of Vick in the inning’s second delivery. They were one for one and need to consolidate in order to have a chance. Consolidate they did not. Brian Heeralall clean bowled Carl and Cundon in his first over. In addition, for good measure added the wicket of Bunty before he left the field with a groin injury. Young Gunz never recovered and was bowled out for
85. Rob provided the only resistance to Richmond Hill’s bowling
attack with 32. Round
