United Sports Club Over Power Eagles

The 2009 Nassau Cricket League season get under way last weekend at the Flushing Meadows Park with United Sports lopsided victory over Eagles.

On a bright sunny day under windy condition Eagles winning the toss and ask United Sports to take first strike on a pitch that was uneven for batting.

United sports rattle up 255 for 7 off 40overs with former Guyana wicketkeeper batsman Vishal Nagamootoo registering classy century (103) that was decorated with 14 boundaries and a equally entertaining 58 from Hemchand Hardeo that include seven fours and two sixes. David Mohamed also chipped in with aggressive 41.

Earlier in the day United Sports opening pair of Nagamootoo and Hardeo put on 123 for the first wicket before Hardeo depart, which brought to the crease USA Captain Steve Massiah in his first game for United Sports did not trouble the score and was unfortunately giving out LBW.

Nagamootoo and Mohamed stabilize the middle with a 77 runs partnership.

Bowling for Eagles former West Indies test player Ryan Ramdass and N. Ramotar had 2 wickets apiece. In reply Eagles was all out for 112 off 25.2 overs with R. Altab top score with 24 and R. Seochand 23.

Bowling for United Sports J. Lall 4 for 26 off 8 overs, Nagamootoo and Massiah had 2 wickets apiece for 7 and 24 respectively.

United Sports Club next game is against Carpet Doctor at Beach 32.
