United Sports Demolish Rising Star As Nagamootoo Slams Second Century

The second round of the Nassau Cricket League was played last weekend at Beach 32 as United Sports continue on their winning streak. Under chilly conditions Rising Star won the toss and elected to take first strike. The were off to a flying start as opener R. Bisram (35) and R. Willams (28) put on 62 before Williams went, but fail to capitalize as there middle order collapsed. At the end of their 40 overs, they were 176/6 with L. Logan top scoring with 37.

Bowling for United Sports former Trinidian player David Mohamed was the pick of the bowler with 3/20 and there was one wicket each for talented Sunil Singh who had figure of 8-2-15-1 and Skipper Ram Singh 1/15.

In reply former Guyana wicketkeeper batsman Vishal Nagamootoo led the way with another brilliant century (103 n.o), he featured in two outstanding partnership. He added 109 with opening partner Hemchand Hardeo (22) and 68 with USA captain Steve Massiah who had an entertaining knock of 41 not out with 5 boundaries. United Sports finish on 177 for 1 off 26 overs. Dyanand was the lone wicket taker for Rising Star with 1 for 27. United Sports next game is against Alliance CC at Beach 32.
